I only said it was difficult being your friend because I knew I would never be attractive enough for us to be anything more, which is what I wanted at the time. I miss the friendship that I damaged.

  1. Radio Matthew said,

I think what damages a friendship is when Person A tells Person B that he clearly wants to just be friends, and Person B goes into a friendship with an expectation of something more than what is actually on the table. It’s Person B’s high expectations and constant craving for more that ruins the friendship, not the honesty of Person A. If you are Person A, you didn’t do anything wrong. The friendship would never have been healthy if Person B had those kinds of expectations.

@Radio Matthew — Person A and Person B were thrown together by a penchant for the performing arts. Whether or not “just friends” was the deal was never discussed, and a close friendship grew. Person A said some really stupid things at a party that got back to Person B who was highly offended, and rightfully so. Person A and Person B no longer talk. Recently, Person A was analyzing the situation and realized why he said the things he said, and realized that he’s pretty much a tool.
