CHE BELLO quote of the day.

March 30, 2008 at 11:53 pm (Uncategorized) (, , )

“Just because you go to the dollar store, doesn’t mean that you are poor. Just last week I saw a brand new corvette pull into the dollar store. Perhaps they owned the store, but it doesn’t matter. You can find a variety of different Thanksgiving decorations there.”
– an excerpt from a blog post by Shannon Frye, whose writings have been entertaining my boyfriend with their amazing insights and poor paragraph structure for quite a while. (Trust me, he’s been sending me pieces all evening.)

Disclaimer: This post may or may not have been written solely to satisfy Patrick:
“But I don’t want to make fun of her…”
“Why not?”
“Because it isn’t nice!
“Since when do we not make fun of people?”
“I…okay, truth.”

Thanksgiving decorations won’t help you in March (or April, for this matter), which is why they’re at the Dollar Store. Pocket change stores are a dumping ground for items considered “retail rejects.” I used to work for Kohl’s. A lot of our stuff ends up there, because…well, Kohl’s sells crap. Crap that most consumers don’t want.

Our Dollar Stores in California sell groceries and produce too. I have to say, a lot of their canned selections make for good meals. Their produce…not so much.
