CHE BELLO obsesses over…

It’s time to start up another periodic feature of this lil’ ol’ blog: my YouTube obsessions! I spend way too much time on the Internet’s most popular video-sharing site, and think you should too. (And no, I was not paid to say that, unfortunately.)

I saw the gem of an Irish film “Once” over my winter break and have been obsessed with it ever since. The tagline itself was enough to hook me forever, being eternally hopelessly romantic: “How often do you find the right person?” Lead singer for The Frames Glen Hansard and the darling Czech songstress Marketa Irglova star in a movie about falling in love over delightfully melancholy indie music. The tunes are all original, co-written by the pair, ((who I learned the other day are dating in real life and if they ever ever break up I will cry for decades!)) and the soundtrack’s stand-out number “Falling Slowly” won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. So take a lazy Sunday evening and go rent this brilliant movie, but for now, here’s the scene where the two first collaborate on the Oscar-winning song:
